Here's to Strong Women: may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them!

Embracing Strength: Navigating Challenges, Asserting Boundaries and the Journey of Lifelong Learning for Women

In a world where societal expectations often mold women into predetermined roles, the journey of a strong woman is riddled with unique challenges. From breaking stereotypes to asserting boundaries, navigating this path requires resilience, determination and a commitment to lifelong learning.

It takes courage to say "no" to things you don't find yourself in, to stop giving explanations to those around you for the choices you make. But as I often tell myself, there is nothing more painful than staying stuck somewhere you do not belong.

Society often imposes rigid stereotypes on women, expecting them to be nurturing, submissive and accommodating. However, as a strong woman, you will have to challenge these stereotypes by embracing your independence, ambition and assertiveness. We have to redefine what it means to be feminine, proving that strength comes in various forms.

As a woman, I faced criticism for being too assertive or ambitious, sometimes being too much or  aiming too high, receiving all sorts of advice like to settle for less, talk less, as many people around me would feel threatened by my competitive nature, whereas they should not have, because I could have helped them in various ways, if they respected me for what I was, not what they wanted me to be. Most of the people I worked with would never have known who I really am and what I can do, if I hadn't started writing.

So, one of the most significant challenges for strong women is learning to say "no" despite societal expectations. You have to understand the importance of setting boundaries to protect your well-being and prioritize your needs, while respecting others. Saying "no" isn't always easy, but it's essential for maintaining self-respect and preserving personal integrity.

For all the strong women out there, keep learning, keep improving yourself and don't accept criticism from someone you wouldn't go to for advice. While feedback is important, it's essential to know who you should be listening to.

If you are facing the same challenges, write in the comments and let us know how did you overcome them.
